SUNNY DAYS
Solo / SB / Grade 6
£6.00
Written in A Major throughout, this piece is for the performer who wants to play in a jazzy, but controlled style. It is a jazz waltz, but with a 6/8 feel at times, and demands a loose, fluid style of the performer, together with technical playing skills that melds melody, harmony and good fingering ability into one cohesive unit. After a four-bar introduction, the first eight bars of the 16-bar first syncopated section represent a brazen theme which could be an introduction in itself, and is restated twice more during the piece. The main theme, or tune, comes later. Overall, it is a swinging, upbeat composition that will leave the performer, and the listener, wanting more.
