Solo / SB / Grade 5

This piece takes a rather light-hearted, playful look at music that is best described as typically Scottish in nature and feel. It has a lilting aspect to its first 16-bar theme that combines the syncopation of a Scottish dance with a rhythmic pulse that drives it along. The second section includes an eight-bar theme with treble note clusters and syncopated rhythm. It is written throughout in the uplifting key of A major.
