RHAPSIDIUM FOR A RAINY DAY

Solo / SB / Grade 7

£6.00

This classical composition is written in E Major, and has a 12/8 feel to its 4/4 timing. It requires finger dexterity and good control of the instrument in order to perform across its varied rhythmic and dynamic range with precision and expression. The phrasing and note accenting, stabbing four-note staccato treble chords and bolero-like melody are all balanced by some double-note bass work to support the rhythmic flow, together with several changes of coupler (register). Trills and glissandos are included, and, as the indications state, nobile con moto and attacca con subito con fuoco are at its very essence of expression.
