This composition is written throughout in Ab Major, although it actually ends in C Major. It is written in the unusual time signature of 11/8, and requires the accordionist to be able to maintain an accuracy in counting (3+3+3+2) and rhythmic continuity. However, once established, the piece flows freely and so the unusual time signature is not noticed. Indeed, the time signature changes from 11/8, and into 8/8, 7/8, and ends in 7/4. It incorporates some bellows shakes that require the performer to have good control of the instrument. The piece is ideally suited to the piano accordion, due to the layout and fingering of the treble keyboard chords within. A good technical standard is also required.
