This fast-paced “show” piece is written in G minor, with a short middle section in G Major. Its main theme suggests a movie chase scene, and has the hallmarks of a Keystone Cops feature. The first middle section features three- and four-note treble chords that move in line with the bass notes and chord structure. The second middle section retracts into G Major and into a mix of 6/4 and 4/4, before returning to the main theme, in the original key of G minor, in 4/4 chase time, flowing into the final section, which features arpeggios in several forms.
