CLOWN IN A PICKLE

Solo / SB / Grade 5

£5.00

This is piece is written in 4/4, in A minor. The four-bar introduction is slow and somewhat classical in nature (it’s the clown in his artful planning mode), but it jumps to a much faster pace in a second, eight-bar introduction that includes some four-note treble chords and syncopation. The ensuing 16-bar treble melody presents the clown performing his act – running around and falling down, picking himself up and falling down, and laughing. The following section is a slapstick 8-bars which sets the piece up for a few playful moments before showing the clown as he runs around on a little chase sequence up a ladder to the end.
