Solo / SB / Grade 5
Written in G major in 4/4 time. After a short four-bar introduction, a number of finger-testing treble triplets sets the tone for this toe-tapping, danceable polka with an insistence of finger agility during the first 16 bar melody section. A second section of 16-bars has a twist on the first section in that it uses more of the upper keyboard section, and a different melody. A third section morphs into Bb major and features a two-bar motif with thirds alternating with single notes in the treble, plus some small runs and chords, with a repeat of the thirds and single note motif in a slightly different configuration. Then it’s back into G major with a repeat of the first two sections, but in reverse order, before a treble phrase leads to a G major chord ending.
